The Heavens Declare (19)

The `hea_ vens declare the glory / of~ God.
`The expanse_ shows his / handiwork.
`Day_ after day they / pour out speech,
and `night_ after night_ they dis / play~ knowledge.
There `is no speech nor / lan~ guage
`where their voice_ / is not heard.
Their `voice has gone out through_ / all the earth,
their `words_ to the end_ / of the world.

`In them he has set a tent_ / for the sun,
`which is as a bridegroom coming out_ / of his room,
and `like a / champion,
`runs its / course with joy.
His `going out is from the end_ / of the heavens,
his `circuit / to its ends.
`There is nothing / hid~ den
`from_ / its~ heat.
The `law_ of the / LORD is perfect,
re `storing / the~ soul.
The `covenant_ of the / LORD is sure,
`making / wise the simple.

The `precepts of the / LORD are right,
re `joicing / the~ heart.
`The commandment of the / LORD is pure,
en `lighten / ing the eyes.
The `fear_ of the / LORD is pure,
en `dur_ / ing forever.
The `just decrees_ of the / LORD are true,
and `righteous / altogether.
`They are more to be desired_ / than~ gold,
`even an abundance of_ / pure~ gold,
`sweeter also / than~ honey
`and the drippings of the / honeycomb.

`Moreover your servant is_ / warned by them.
In `keeping them_ there is / great reward.
`Who_ can discern their / own~ errors?
For `give my / hidden faults.
Keep `back your servant also from_ / willful sins.
`Let them not_ have dominion / over me.
`Then I will be / up~ right.
I `will be blameless and_ innocent of / great transgression.
`Let the words_ / of my mouth
`and the meditation / of my heart
`be acceptable_ / in your sight,
`LORD, my rock, and / my redeemer.
