Psalm 21

O Come (95)

The `king rejoices in your / strength~, LORD!

How `greatly he rejoices in_ / your salvation!

`You have given him his / heart’s desire,

`and have not withheld_ the request_ / of his lips.

Selah.

`For you meet him with the blessings / of~ goodness.

You `set a crown of pure_ gold_ / on his head.

`He asked you for life_ and you / gave it to him,

`length of days forever / and~ ever.

His `glory is_ great in / your salvation.

`You lay honor and_ majesty_ / on~ him.

For `you make him most / bless’d forever.

You `make him glad with joy_ / in your presence.

`For the king trusts / in the LORD.

`Through the loving kindness of the Most High, he shall / not be moved.

Your `hand will seize all of your / enemies.

`Your right hand will capture those who / hate~ you.

`You will make them as a fi’ry furnace in the time_ / of your anger.

The `LORD will swallow them up / in his wrath. • The `fire_ shall de / vour~ them.

`You_ will destroy_ their descendants / from the earth,

their `offspring from the children / of mankind.

They `plot evil against you which can / not succeed.

`For you will put / them to flight,

`when you aim drawn bows_ / at their face. +

`Be exalted, LORD_, / in your strength,

so `we will sing and / praise your power.
