Psalm 118

O Come (95)

Give `thanks_ to the LORD, for / he is good,

`for his loving kind_ ness en / dures forever.

Let `Isra / el now say

`that his loving kind_ ness en / dures forever.

`Let the house of Aaron / now~ say

`that his loving kind_ ness en / dures forever.

`Now let those who fear the / LORD~ say

`that his loving kind_ ness en / dures forever.

(Ref)

`Out of my distress, I called_ / on the LORD.

The `LORD_ answered and_ / set me free.

The `LORD is on my side_. I will not_ / be afraid.

`What can a mere mortal / do to me?

The `LORD is on my side among_ / those who help me.

`Therefore I will look in triumph at_ / those who hate me.

`It is better to take refuge / in the LORD,

`than_ to put confidence in / mere~ mortals. +

`It is better to take refuge / in the LORD,

`than_ to put confidence in / prin~ ces.

`All the na_ tions sur / rounded me,

but `in the name_ of the LORD I / cut them off.

`They surrounded me, yes, they sur / rounded me.

`In the name of the LORD I indeed_ / cut them off. +

`They surrounded me like bees, but they were quenched like / burning thorns.

`In the name_ of the LORD I / cut them off.

(Ref)

`I was pushed back hard, to / make me fall,

`but the LORD_ / helped~ me.

The `LORD_ is my strength_ / and~ song.

`He_ has become_ / my salvation.

The `voice_ of rejoicing and salvation is_ in the tents_ / of the righteous.

“The `right hand of the LORD does / valiantly.

The `right hand of the LORD_ / is exalted!

The `right hand of the LORD does / valiantly!”

I `will not / die, but live,

`and declare the works_ / of the LORD.

The `LORD has disciplined_ me se / vere~ ly,

but `he has not_ given me_ over / to~ death.

(Ref)

`O_ pen to me the gates of / righteousness.

`I will enter / into them. • • `I will give_ thanks_ / to the LORD.

`This_ is the gate_ / of the LORD;

the `righteous will_ enter / into it.

`I will give_ thanks to you, for you have / answered me,

and `have become_ / my salvation.

The `stone_ which the builders re_ / jec~ ted

`has become the / cornerstone.

`This_ is the / LORD’s~ doing.

`It is marvelous_ / in our eyes.

`This_ is the day_ that the / LORD has made.

`We_ will rejoice_ and be / glad in it!

(Ref)

`Save us now, we / beg you, LORD!

`LORD, we beg you, grant_ us suc / cess~ now.

`Bles-sed is he who comes in the name_ / of the LORD!

`We have blessed you out_ of the house_ / of the LORD.

The `LORD is God, and he has given / us~ light.

`Bind the sacrifice with cords_, to the horns_ / of the altar.

`You_ are my God, and I will give_ / thanks to you.

`You_ are my God, I will ex / alt~ you. +

`Oh give thanks_ to the LORD, for / he is good,

`for his loving kind_ ness en / dures forever.
