In My Distress (120)

`I lift up my / eyes to you,
`you who sit_ / in the heavens.
`As the eyes of servants look_ to the hand_ / of their master,
`as the eyes of a maid to the hand_ / of her mistress,
`so our eyes look to the / LORD, our God,
un `til he has_ mercy / on~ us.
Have `mercy on us, LORD, have mercy / on~ us,
`for we have endured_ / much contempt. +
`We have had_ more than enough scorn_ from the / arrogant,
`with_ the contempt_ / of the proud.
