`By the rivers of_ / Babylon, • there_ / we sat down.

We `wept when we remembered / Zi~ on.

`On the willows in that land_, we_ / hung our harps.

For `there_, those who led us captive asked_ / us for songs.

`Those_ who tormented us demanded / songs of joy:

`“Sing us one_ of the / songs of Zion!”

`How_ can we sing the songs_ / of the LORD 

`in a / foreign land?
