Psalm 41

In My Distress (120)

`Bless’d_ is the one_ who considers / the~ poor.

The `LORD_ will deliver him_ in the / day of evil.

The `LORD_ will preserve_ him, and keep_ / him alive. • `He_ shall be blessed_ / on the earth,

and `he will not surrender him_ to the will_ of his / enemies.

The `LORD_ will sustain him on his / sick~ bed,

`and restore him from his / bed of illness.

`I said, “LORD, have mercy / on~ me!

`Heal_ me, for I have sinned a / gainst~ you.”

(Ref)

My `enemies speak e_ vil a / gainst~ me:

`”When_ will he die, and / his name perish?”

`When one comes to see me, / he speaks falsehood.

`His heart / gathers slander. • When `he goes out, he / tells~ it.

`All who hate me whis_ per together / against me.

`They imagine the_ / worst for me.

“A `vile disease”, they say, “has over / whelmed~ him.

`Now that he lies he shall rise_ / up no more.”

`Even my_ own familiar friend, in / whom I trusted, • `who ate / bread with me,

has `turned a / gainst~ me.

But `you_, LORD, have mercy on me, and_ / raise me up,

`that I / may repay them.

(Ref)

By `this I know that you de / light in me,

be `cause my enemy does not_ triumph / over me.

`As for me_, you uphold me in_ my in / tegrity,

and `set me in your pre_ / sence forever. +

`Bles-sed be the LORD, the God of / Israel,

from `everlasting and to / everlasting! • A `men and / a~ men.
