Psalm 51

In My Distress (120)

Have `mercy on me / O~ God

ac `cording to your / loving kindness.

Ac `cording to the greatness of your / tender mercies,

`blot out / my transgressions.

`Wash me thoroughly from my in / iquity.

`Cleanse me / from my sin.

`For I know_ / my transgressions.

My `sin is constantly be / fore~ me.

(Ref)

A `gainst you and you only / I have sinned

and `done that which is evil / in your sight,

so `you may be proved right_ / when you speak

and `justified_ / when you judge.

In `deed I was born in in / iquity.

`I was sinful when my mother con_ / ceived~ me

`Surely you desire_ truth_ in the / inward parts.

You `teach me wisdom in the / inmost place.

`Purify me with_ hyssop and I / will be clean.

`Wash me, and I will be whiter / than~ snow.

`Let me hear_ / joy and gladness,

`that the bones which you have broken / may rejoice.

(Ref)

`Hide your face_ / from my sins,

and `blot out all of my in / iquities.

Cre `ate in me a clean_ / heart, O God.

Re `new a right_ spirit / within me.

`Do not cast me / from your presence,

and `do not take your Holy Spirit / from~ me.

Re `store to me the joy of / your salvation.

Up `hold me with a / willing spirit.

Then `I will teach_ trans_ gressors / your~ ways.

`Sinners will_ be converted / to~ you.

De `liver me_ from the guilt of bloodshed / O~ God,

the `God of / my salvation.

(Ref)

My `tongue will / sing a loud

`of your / righteousness.

`Lord_ open / my~ lips,

and `my mouth will de / clare your praise.

For `you do not delight in sacrifice or / I would give it.

You `have no pleasure in burnt / offering.

The `sacrifices of God are a / broken spirit.

O `God_ you will not despise a broken and_ / contrite heart.

Do `well in your good pleasure / to~ Zion.

`Build the walls_ of Je / rusalem.

`Then you will delight in righteous sacrifices, in_ whole burnt / offerings.

`Then bulls will be offered / on your altar.
