Out of the Depths (130)

`Hear my voice, O God, in / my complaint.
Pre `serve my life from fear_ of the / enemy.
`Hide me from_ the conspiracy_ / of the wicked,
`from the mob of / evildoers.
They `sharpen their_ tongue_ / like a sword,
and `aim their arrows, / deadly words,
to `shoot the innocent from / ambushes.
`They shoot suddenly and / fearlessly.
(Ref)
`They encourage themselves in_ / evil plans.
They `talk about_ / hiding traps. • • They `say_, “Who will / see~ them?”
They `plot injustice, saying, “We have made a / perfect plan!”
`Surely the_ human mind and / heart are cunning.
But `God will / shoot at them.
`They will be_ suddenly struck down_ / with an arrow.
`Their own tongues shall / ruin them.
`All who see them will_ / shake their heads.
Then `all man / kind shall fear. • They `shall declare the / work of God,
`and shall wisely ponder what_ / he has done.
The `righteous shall be glad_ in the LORD_, and take refuge / in~ him.
`All_ the upright in heart shall / praise~ him!
