Psalm 71

I Lift My Eyes (121)

In `you, LORD, / I take refuge.

`Never let me be_ / put to shame.

De `liver me_ in your righteousness, and / rescue me.

`Turn your ear to me, and / save~ me.

`Be to me a rock of refuge to which I may / always go.

`Give_ the command to save me, for you are my rock_ and my / for~ tress.

`Rescue me, my God_, from the hand_ / of the wicked,

`from the hand_ of the unjust / and oppressive.

(Ref)

`For you are my hope_, / Lord~ GOD,

my `confidence_ / from my youth.

I `have relied on you_ / from the womb.

`You are he who took me out_ of my / mother’s womb. • `I will always / praise~ you.

I `am a / sign to many,

and `you are my strong / re~ fuge.

`My mouth shall be filled_ / with your praise,

`with your honor / all day long.

Do `not reject me in my / old~ age.

Do `not forsake me when my / strength~ fails.

`For my enemies_ / talk about me.

`Those who spy on me_ / plot together. +

`They say, “God_ has for / saken him.

Pur `sue and take him, for no one will / rescue him.”

(Ref)

O `God, do not be / far from me.

My `God, hurry to / help~ me.

Let `my accusers be_ put to shame_ / and destroyed.

Let `them be covered with disgrace and scorn who want to / harm~ me.

But `I will / always hope,

`and will add to all of / your~ praise.

My `mouth will tell about your righteousness, and of_ your salvation / all~ day,

`though I cannot / sum them up.

`I will come because_ of the mighty acts_ of the / Lord~ GOD.

I `will proclaim your righteousness_, / yours alone.

O `God_, you have taught me / from my youth.

`Until now, I have declared your / wondrous works.

(Ref)

`Even when I am_ / old and gray,

O `God, do not for / sake~ me,

un `til I have declared your strength to the next / generation,

your `might to ev’ryone who / is to come.

O `God, your righteousness_ reaches / to the heavens.

`You have done great things. O God_, who is / like~ you?

`You_, who have shown me many and_ / bitter troubles, • `you_ will revive_ / me again.

`You will bring me up again_ from the depths_ / of the earth.

`You_ will in / crease my honor

and `comfort / me again.

`I will praise you with the harp_ for your faithfulness_, / my~ God.

`I sing praises to you with the lyre_, Holy One of / Israel.

(Ref)

My `lips shall shout for joy when I sing / praise to you

be `cause you have re / deemed~ me!

My `tongue will tell_ of your righteousness_ / all day long,

for `they who seek my harm are put to shame_ / and confusion.
