In My Distress (120)

My `cry_ / goes to God!
In `deed, I cry to God for help_, and for him to listen / to~ me.
`In the day_ of my trouble I_ / sought the Lord.
My `hand was stretched out in the night, and did_ / not get tired. • My `soul refused to be_ / comforted. +
`I remember God_, / and I groan.
I `meditate_, and my spirit is_ / overwhelmed.
Selah.
You `kept my / eyes from closing.
`I_ am so troubled that I / cannot speak.
I `thought about the / days of old,
the `years of / ancient times.
(Ref)
`I remember my song / in the night.
I `meditate in my own heart; my spirit diligent_ / ly inquires:
`“Will the Lord reject_ / us forever?
`Will he show his favor / no~ more?
`Has his loving kindness vanished for_ / e~ ver?
`Does his promise fail for / generations?
Has `God forgotten / to be gracious?
Has `he, in anger, withheld / his compassion?”
Selah.
`Then I thought, “I will ap / peal to this:
the `years_ of the right hand of the / Most~ High.”
I `will remember the deeds / of the LORD;
`for I will remember your_ wonders / of~ old.
(Ref)
`I will meditate on / all your work,
`and consider / all your deeds.
Your `way, O / God, is holy.
What `god is / great like God?
`You are the God / who does wonders.
`You have made your strength_ known a / mong the peoples.
`You_ have redeemed your people / with your arm,
the `sons of Jacob / and~ Joseph.
Selah.
The `waters saw you, / O~ God.
The `waters saw you, / and they writhed.
The `depths_ / also trembled.
The `clouds_ / poured out water.
(Ref)
The `skies resounded / with~ thunder.
Your `arrows also / flashed around.
The `voice_ of your thunder was_ / in the whirlwind.
The `lightnings lit_ / up the world.
The `earth_ trembled / and~ shook.
Your `way was / through the sea,
your `paths_ through the great_ / wa~ ters.
`Yet your footsteps / were unseen. +
You `led your people / like a flock,
`by the hand of Moses / and~ Aaron.
