`you who lead_ Joseph / like a flock,

`you who sit above the / cherubim,

`shine on Ephraim_, Benjamin_, / and Manasseh.

`Stir_ / up your might! 

`Come to / save~ us!

how `long will you be angry a_ gainst the prayer_ / of your people?

`You have fed them with the / bread of tears,

and `given them_ tears to drink in / full~ measure.

`You put us at odds_ / with our neighbors.

Our `enemies_ laugh a / mong themselves.

`Cause your face to shine on us, and we_ / will be saved.

`You_ brought a vine_ / out of Egypt.

`You drove out the nations, and_ / planted it.

`You_ cleared the / ground for it.

It `took deep root, and / filled the land.

`It sent out its branches / to the sea,

`Why_ have you broken / down its walls,

`so that all who pass by / pluck its fruit?

The `boar out of the forest / tears at it.

The `wild_ animals_ of the field_ / feed on it.

`Turn again, we beg you, / God of hosts.

Look `down from heaven, and_ see, and visit / this~ vine,

the `stock which your right / hand~ planted,

the `branch that you made strong_ / for yourself.
